“ So, I showed up at this restaurant with jeans and a flannel shirt. I thought we were going to a brewery! Upon crossing the threshold, I saw a sea of blue blazers, ties, & suits, the women, elegant and handsome. Clearly, I was misinformed and now feeling quite out of place. My table of six was seated without a thought and our server greated us warmly, I wish I could remember her name. Other patrons in the restaurant don't give me a second look, they were engaged with their parties. It became clear to me that this restaurant was interested in a quality dining experience and the anything else was all on me. We placed our orders and enjoyed conversation while we waited. A short while later out come 2 or 3 servers with everyone's food. No doubt an effort to ensure everyone had their plate at the same time. A really nice touch and much appreciated. While all of these details are nice, it does not compare to the what the chefs brought to our palates. The food was supurb! The fish and chips were crunchy and moist, the burgers cooked to perfection and a flavor that makes me want to return right now! The fried oysters were out of this world! Everyone in my party raved about their dish. 5 stars from me. Great food, & amazing service. Definitely, a restaurant I will visit again when I'm in Lexington, VA. ”

“ We were traveling I-81 south and chose Lexington as our lunch stop. TAPS receives lots of favorable reviews so we decided to stop in - after checking to find that our 2 dogs were welcome... at their beautiful and serene outdoor setting. [There is also indoor dining, in a cozy cozy room.] Food was creative and tasty. TAPS receives much acclaim for their veggie burgers. Of course there are numerous ways to create a veggie burger and TAPS' offering is lentil based. Consider their Fish Tacos which are lightly seared, sesame encrusted tuna, with an Asian inspired slaw, avocado and Wasabi. Its an excellent dish made with high quality tuna. ”

“ This place is great! I love the ambiance here indoor & out. I've been inside twice and recently sat outdoor on the back patio. It was clean & tidy. It was a beautiful place to sit and talk with a friend. The best drink to get here for cocktails is the lavender infused vodka drink. ”

It had good reviews too. It was perfect! The restaurant/bar is in an historic hotel. The patio is shaded with planters full of blooms. The service was helpful. The food was great. We will be back. “ My wife and I were in our way back from Florida. Lexington was a nicely timed area to stop. We were looking for a cozy spot for a quality cocktail and a tasty bite. We couldn’t have been more pleased. My old-fashioned was top-notch. My wife’s burger was delicious. Server Alexis was attentive, pleasant and informative. Laid back atmosphere. “ I've been here a few times now and the food is fantastic. So far I've had the Fish Tacos (great job searing the tuna and having the rest nice and cool), Fried Chicken & Waffles, Macho Salad, Fish and Chips, and Taps Burger. Every plate I've had has been cooked to perfection, tastes amazing, and presented beautifully. Love to sit out back and enjoy the great weather whenever we can. Service has been slow during COVID but totally expected as every restaurant I've been to is short-handed. Great restaurant option in Lexington. UPDATE 2025 I wanted to update my previous review with a couple pictures. Taps is still one of our go-to places for Lexington. Food remains excellent and we have experienced much more prompt service. ”

“ Came in on a Tuesday night around 7pm. Saw the bartender to be seated and were sat right away. Ordered the fried oysters, a side caesar salad, and the penne pasta. My coworker had the taps burger. Oh, and the strawberry mousse cake! Food came out fast and tasty. The staff was efficient and tentative without being overbearing. We will definitely be going back to try other menu items! The only thing I'd say is when we go back, asking for a different type of chair. Mine wasn't too comfy. ”
